At some level, I have to agree with a lot of these comments. People panic-buy toilet paper in any crisis far beyond just the Coronavirus. Panic buying is something we can control. I have seen psychologists argue that it’s also because toilet paper reminds us of infancy and that it has primal implications, which I am much more skeptical of.

Instead of trying to explain it, why don’t we accept it as it just is? People are just arbitrarily buying toilet paper. Toilet paper companies got very, very lucky by this sudden, unexplainable surge in demand. No one will really have an adequate answer as to why.
