Eavesdropping on Conspiracy Theories Was The Most Interesting Part of My Day
I couldn’t have been in the bathroom for more than a minute and a half. I had to go in and change from work clothes to workout clothes at a separate campus of Johns Hopkins University.
Ten seconds after I entered the stall, I heard the voices of two men casually having a conversation while doing their business at the urinal:
“Have you seen the Twitter Files? I’m glad they’re finally exposing all this woke censorship with Hunter Biden’s laptop. Musk is finally bringing the truth to light.”
“Yeah, and they’re finally revealing all these new side effects from the vaccine. I knew we couldn’t trust it.”
While listening, I couldn’t help but smile. Anyone vaguely familiar with the climate and environment of academia and universities knows that expressing these opinions is social suicide, so it isn’t something you hear every day.
I finished changing, exited the stall, and made a conscious effort not to make any eye contact with the two men, which is proper etiquette for a public restroom, anyway. But I did notice they were both middle-aged, White maintenance guys.
