Hey Brianna!

I re-watched the movie last night and watched the documentary. I quite liked both, but I really liked the documentary more as an accurate depiction.

I think it has a pretty uplifting message and theme. It can be interpretted in that insulting way but that's not how it's meant to be.

My favorite TV show is "The Wire" and a lot of politicians in Baltimore HATE "The Wire" because it depicted the non-gentrified, non-commercial part of the city that was sort of the underbelly of it. But there needs to be shows like "The Wire" much like there need to be movies like "Freedom Writers".

I can see the other teachers in the school being jealous. But I would hope that it was a staff that supported each other and they were happy for her, and she was happy for the accomplishments for other teachers. Teaching isn't a competition between teachers and no one knows what the bond is like between one teacher and their students to the next.
