It was just the emphasis — be empathetic and forgiving of students, but punitive towards teachers. Granted some of my peers’ actions like calling out for a week at a time weren’t very defensible. I love Brene Brown too, but just using her work in the context of an unforgiving work environment was an ironic juxtaposition we were constantly used to.
