It is completely true that good people can do terrible things, and that it is this cultural and institutional framework that promotes and even encourages it. I just don’t know how much individual martyrs helps to change that framework, and if that was the case honestly every man I know, including myself, deserves the same reckoning that men like Louis and Aziz have, but justice is selective enough that our wrongs aren’t in the public spotlight. Making martyrs brings justice, but it doesn’t bring change.
