I agree with the film representation and thank you so much! The representation does tend to be an attitude largely of society itself and western society. I think the ideal future is some sort of balance -- you don't want to be fetishized but you don't want to be labeled undesirable either.

Honestly there are bigger problems in the world so it's not something that always was in the forefront of my mind, but my girlfriend has always really loved K-Pop and that played a factor in our mutual attraction. Who knows what will happen with time to tell?
