I Ran 65 Miles Last Week

This is the most comfortable and relaxed I’ve felt running this much

As a corollary to my last piece about running 60 miles in a week, I love updating the Internet about the status of my training. Last week, I ran 65 miles, upping my total mileage and base. It was undramatic. I barely talk about it unless I’m with friends who run, but it has been otherwise pretty damn boring.

I added one longer run for the week as an addition to my two workouts. I had a busy week back from work and have successfully prioritized running to the point where I can fit it into a busy workweek. Half my runs were solo, while the other half of my runs were with other people.

I am in the best shape I have been in since college. I have no races coming up and my workouts this week could have been more difficult. However, a month ago I ran a 5k under 16 minutes on a very hilly course. On a track, I believe I can run around 15:40 right now. For a half marathon, I am shooting for 73 minutes in my next effort. I put in 85% of my max capacity into my training, but that’s exactly how it should be.
