I really like this one too. I love it when people challenge my opinions in Medium articles and I know for certain that it's not personal either. These days a lot of people take it as a personal attack when people challenge or disagree with them, but I try my best not to.

An example would be simply pitching publications. I think when I first got on Medium, I tried to pitch what I thought editors wanted to hear. Or when I first worked on my college newspaper I just rolled over for an editors' edits, not knowing that I could fight for what I wanted to say and challenge them. Once I did challenge them, we had a much greater level of respect and my arguments strengthened because I did have to make them more clear.
