I was a college runner too! Maxed out at 90 per week and just signed up for Boston! I like this article — I used to perceive it as there being an optimal amount of rest. If I take 1 day off it destroys my rhythm for a week. 2 days? Might as well have not run for months. Even if it’s just a 4 mile shakeout, just getting your body and mind adjusted to the daily grind is really important.

It has to be a habit or routine, and recovery to us always meant sleeping well, not going out till 3 in the morning, and eating well. I was not good at this back in the day — I think I’m still not, but thanks for the great article as inspiration!
