I’m not going to say that I’ve never been guilty of spammy promotion (I have), but thanks for the emphasis and the great reminder, Felicia, of the importance of relationships, relationships, relationships. The term definitely gets overdone in education but it works — even with the most difficult of students.

In the Facebook groups I find myself talking with more and more people to get to know them, and it was shocking how although I read their work and shared mine, how little I actually knew about them, from where they’re from, what they do, and everything in between. I have a very close relationship with some writers that joined Medium more or less around the time that I did, so just extending that to others is now personally important to me. Thank you!
