Megan, first year teacher here in Baltimore City. I’m shocked your teacher didn’t have more discretion in this one instance, and your story really moves me. Sometimes when I’m question on my “why” I can’t always give a great answer. The story is too long and does describe a lot of difficulties I had growing up that I, too, wish the teachers I had caught.
