Thank you for this article. This gave voice to what I’ve felt and believed for a long time. I have become so frustrated with how Democrat and center-left leaning news outlets have made everything about Trump and played a losing hand. It’s a reality TV show for him. Giving him attention gives him power.

Why not stand by the morals the party has prided itself on for so long, like education reform (paying greater attention to teacher strikes), health care reform, and tax reform? I understand how social media works well, but there’s a line behind selling out and standing by your convictions. Standing by your convictions means talking about them instead of getting sidetracked by Trump.

For the past 3 years, I have felt like center left conversation I’ve heard about has revolves around Russia, Comey, Mueller, Ukraine, impeachment, and yes, any smoking gun issue revolving around Trump. He’s like the ex that ruined our lives that we can’t shut up about. Why give him that power? Why are Democrats making slogans like “I mean, have you seen the other guys?”

While these scandals are important, don’t you think there are more important things that go on in the daily life of an American citizen? Do you think Russia is seriously what a working American thinks about every day trying to pay the bills and put food on their plates?
