Thank you so much, Hurriya! I have always found it very fascinating to think about control, and whether it’s better to feel like you have it, whether we don’t have it, etc. The basis for so many faiths is surrendering control to a higher power. Not having control over your own life can be bad, but it depends who then is in control. Is it God, is it luck, is it chance?

Different people respond differently. I think some people need a higher internal locus of control to keep themselves going. Other people optimize themselves going the other direction. But I think each person on the platform needs to find their own best recipe for how to best enjoy their experience here, and writers aren’t all painted with the same brush. Some are more driven by money than others. Some genuinely don’t care about monetize I hope I lie more in the latter than the former, but it is still a factor.

And thank you for the mentioning it, Hurriya! All articles in in house pubs get featured but it meant a lot that Erik shouted me out!
