…focus on what I have I have in common with other people, instead of the things that we disagree on. But when the world is so divided, it's often extremely difficult to do that, as often just get yelled at whenever I politely challenge someone's viewpoint.
Thanks for the comment, Matt. I’m really glad this one struck a cord with you. It is super difficult to do in this day and age and it’s just easier to not engage in a time with division. I have always mostly agreed with leftist ideas, but usually never the shouting and visceral methods of persuasion. I also forgot what an election year is like. It hasn’t been this way since 2016, which might contribute a bit to it.
At the end of the day, it’s easier just not to engage. And safer. Thanks for this comment. I don’t know if it’s the same level in the UK with Boris/Corbyn.
