Thanks for the response, Elle. I was really young when this happened, but I believe the defense tried to manipulate the fact that the woman had had three sexual partners in three days. Not saying that it is right, but any lawyer would resort to cutthroat tactics like Kobe’s. That put the account into enough uncertainty by the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard.

I also agree we should look at the full portfolio of any person, not only of Kobe but of all figures. It’s difficult to do so in this day and age that paints everyone in black and white, but what about ourselves? What do we do when we’re also a mixed bag that has done a lot of good and bad in our lives?

For me, the death of a highly public and popular figure like Kobe is an attempt to also look inward and take our lessons.
