The way I think about it is this: electric scooters companies being relatively means that the governments have almost no power over scooter companies. And while this might not be seen as a bad thing, who’s going to respect regulations for scooter use (and I’m guilty of riding a scooter going against traffic and on the side walk) if scooter companies walk all over the regulations? I love riding these scooters still, and in a city where parking in many areas is an absolute nightmare, I prefer scootering over driving a lot of times. But I’m the last person to say I do it safely, and there’s nothing to stop me from walking all over the law, so don’t you think higher taxes would keep us safer, like hefty fines for DUIs stop us from drinking and driving?
