This reminds me of my GameStop investment that initially lost me 40% but just went ballistic. Regardless, I think it’s a lot about expectation. We expect doctors, lawyers and engineers to make a lot of money and don’t bat our eyes when they make six figures. Content creators, especially freelancers, don’t have that societal expectation, and the definition of freelancing is that you open yourself to unpredictability. I think writers brag because it’s largely unexpected.
