Thanks for this piece. The police and law enforcement are tools of a culture that institutionally discriminates against black people.

Lost in the shuffle of black lives getting lost is the fear of miscegenation that has largely led to false accusations against black men appearing threatening by white women. We all know about Emmett Till, but this is also happening now. Look no further than Amy Cooper, but also look at Title IX's race problem in universities: men of color are disproportionately accused of rape, expelled, and punished under the punitive system that well-meaningly seeks to take sexual assault more seriously.

However, when we take sexual assault more seriously, why are black men the most disproportionately targeted?
